We use high-grade steel and durable materials for all our swords, creating strong and beautiful works of art. Each sword is carefully crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail using traditional hand forging methods. Our samurai swords for sale are made in the famed sword-smithing town of Longquan in the mountains of Qinxi from an ongoing tradition that’s lasted 2,600 years. This sword is a symbol of Japan's rich cultural heritage and remains an enduring symbol of the samurai class. It is highly valued for its beauty and craftsmanship and is often passed down from generation to generation as a family heirloom. The samurai sword is not just a weapon, it is also a work of art. The hamon is revealed when the blade is polished and is a distinctive feature of the katana. The swordsmith would carefully control the heating and cooling of the blade to create a hamon that was unique to their style of sword making. The hamon is formed during the forging process and is a result of the varying thickness of the blade. One of the unique features of the samurai sword is the hamon, which is a visible line that runs along the blade. The result was a blade that was both sharp and durable. This process involved repeatedly heating and hammering the steel to remove impurities and strengthen the blade. The swordsmiths would fold and temper the tamahagane steel to create a curved blade. The samurai sword was traditionally made using tamahagane steel, which is a type of steel made from iron sand that is only found in Japan.

As another review stated this sword is so light balance is a non issue and as such makes it a perfect practice weapon for learning new techniques. I personally plan to replace the synthetic same with a leather wrap and replace the ito wrap with a higher quality cloth wrap just to rid myself of the rougher than usual texture.Īs for a practice weapon, this sword is fantastic. The handle is held together in many ways with what i assume to be hot glue and as such was quite difficult to remove, however once I handled the glue, it it became much easier to remove and replace the tsuba and caps, as such it will work wonderfully for my cosplay weapon of choice. I purchased this sword as an Iaito (practice blade for iai), as well for cosplay, as such i was looking forward to replacing the synthetic same, tsuba and redoing the wrap as needed for cosplay and display.
